For solo & small-crew junk removal operators

Stop guessing
what to bid.

Snap a photo of any load. Tonnage sizes the pile, prices the dump fees, flags surcharges, and hands you a quote-ready bid in under 30 seconds. So you stop underbidding the garage cleanouts and stop losing the small jobs to lowballers.

  • ✓ No signup for the demo
  • ✓ Works on your phone in the truck
  • ✓ Dump-fee price book for top 50 metros

Here’s the moment we built this for.

1.

You walk a property. You eyeball the pile. You quote $300.

2.

You hit the dump. Tipping fee & mattress surcharge: $210.

3.

You drive home with $20/hr in your pocket. Should’ve been $450.

Tonnage gives you the right number on-site, in 30 seconds. So that moment never happens again.

From photo to quote-ready bid in 30 seconds.

📸

1. Snap the pile.

Whole-pile shot from your phone. Garage, basement, curbside — whatever you’re bidding.

🤖

2. AI sizes & reads it.

Gemini Vision estimates cubic yards calibrated against reference loads, and flags mattresses, fridges, electronics, tires, hazmat.

💵

3. Prices the dump.

Looks up the tipping fees at your ZIP’s nearest transfer station. Adds surcharges. Adds labor at $85/hr/crew.

📋

4. Hands you the bid.

A range plus a recommended quote, built on a 30% margin floor / 45% target. Ready to read to the customer on the spot.

What operators are saying.

“I bid $250 on a garage. Hit the dump at $180. Got $20/hr for the whole job. Never again.”

— Mike, solo operator (Phoenix)

“My second crew can’t bid without me on the phone. Tonnage is the price book I never wrote down.”

— Dana, 3-truck shop (Atlanta)

“The lowballers undercut me by $50, then leave the mattress. Tonnage is how I bid back.”

— Jorge, owner-operator (Denver)

Common questions.

Is the bid tool actually free?

Yes. The web demo at /tool.html is free — no signup, no credit card. We’ll save the anonymized bid (no photo, no email) so our calibration gets better. Paid plans unlock saved bid history, shared price books, and the SMS quote bot.

How accurate is it?

We target ±10% on a clear whole-pile photo. The bid always comes back as a range plus a recommended quote — never a single number — so you can adjust for stuff the photo can’t see (the back of the garage, the basement stairs). Calibration improves every week as more operators submit bids.

Does it handle weird loads — mattresses, fridges, paint?

That’s the whole point. The vision model is trained to flag the items that wreck a bid when you miss them: mattresses, freon appliances, electronics, tires, paint/hazmat. You can also check those off manually before submitting.

What if my ZIP isn’t covered?

We have curated dump-fee data for the top 50 US metros. Outside those, we use the national average (~$25/yd³). Paid plans let you override with your actual local transfer station rate.

Will this replace my FSM (Jobber, Housecall)?

No. Tonnage is the pricing brain that sits in front of your existing tools. Bid with Tonnage, then send the job to Jobber for scheduling and invoicing. (We’ll have a Jobber integration in Q3 2026.)
